Lakeshore Clean-up May 4
Want to help the environment in a hands-on way that gives instant gratification? Volunteer for the annual Lake James shoreline clean-up effort May 4. Your participation will help make this year’s campaign one of the largest ever to focus on getting the trash out of the lake and into the landfill where it belongs. Starting at 9 a.m., volunteers will meet at the East Picnic Shelter at Lake James State Park’s Paddy’s Creek Area to be assigned to boat crews and given their missions for the morning. Then it will be off to the area’s boat ramps to set sail on a war against litter.
Following the clean-up, volunteers will reassemble at the park for lunch and fun activities in appreciation of all the hard work they put in.
If you are a boat owner and wish to offer your services, please call the park at 828-584-7728 and let them know you will be coming.
Let’s get Lake James looking its best for the summer season. Hope to see you there!
