Catawba RiverFest

North Carolina State Parks is turning 100!  In celebration Lake James State Park is planning a bigger and better Catawba RiverFest.  This year's event will be the third Saturday of September, September 17th.  Catawba RiverFest will begin with the McDowell Trails Association 7th Annual Triathlon.  Come be a spectator or participant.

RiverFest will follow from 11-4.  We will be having boat rides, kid crafts, paddle sport demos, music, educational programs, eco paddle tours and various different vendors and exhibitors.  In addition to the festivities, there is a raffle for a mountain bike and a kayak.  Raffle tickets are available at the Concession area of Paddy's Creek.  The kayak is also on display.  Call the park office for questions 828-584-7728.  Hope to see you there.
