Statewide Star Party

Lake James State Park hosted the Statewide Star Party on Saturday, April 22. Even with though the skies were gray a crowd showed up to hear Jeff Whisnant, of the Catawba Valley Astronomy Club (CVAC), give a talk on meteorites, which included actual space rocks for folks to see. The Catawba Valley Astronomy Club has been assisting Lake James State Park with its astronomy program for eight years now and the club just celebrated its 40th anniversary. Happy anniversary and a big thank you to the CVAC for all that they do!
