Kayak Raffle

Michael Lowther, owner of Overmountain Cycles in Morganton, was this year’s lucky winner in the Friends of Lake James State Park kayak raffle fundraiser. Lowther’s ticket happened to be drawn on the evening of Sept. 29, the same day as the inaugural Barnburner 50-kilometer mountain bike race - an event he organized and donated all of the proceeds (around $2,250) for the Fonta Flora State Trail Project.
