When North Carolina voters approved the Connect NC bond referendum in 2016, the wheels started to turn at Lake James State Park and plans for a long-awaited visitors’ center were set in motion.

With an allowance of more than $3 million for the project through the bond and other sources, the goal is to construct a visitors’ center that will reflect the beauty and diversity of the areas surrounding Lake James.
